MICHELLE TUMES: I think very young and moving to Nashville, Tennessee a long time ago without a family or anything, and just having visa issues and all that sort of thing, I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal but as a young person just not knowing where God wants you, that was pretty scary for me. And just reading the Bible and going to a Bible study, and just having that Word come to life and the fellowship with other women old and young, that really got me through. Also I read a prayer book as well in conjunction with the Bible, which further illuminated what God was trying to say. Another crisis would be just, you know, “Am I supposed to be doing music?” and what I’m supposed to be doing. I said one, “Lord, I’m just going to open the Bible,” and honestly it went to the Psalms where it says, “Sing for the Lord, sing with excellence,” and it was like, “Oh, my goodness,” that’s like a lightning bolt. Like sometimes artists think, “Well, should I be doing this? I’m not sure. It’s scary,” and just, you know, a general doubt that one has, I guess, sometimes.
