“I Made These Verses Mine”
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
Henry writes:
I like these two verses because it says But seek first ye the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. What I like about this verse is that it is saying that if we look for God first everything you need He will give you then it also says in the next verse Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. In this verse it is telling you not to worry to much to the things that will be happening tomorrow because they will be taken care of. Just worry about whats happening today and let God worry about the rest. The reason why I chose these verses is because when I lived in Puerto Rico I was having a problem where I guess I just wanted to run and leave everything that I had already done over there and come back to the states, and I remember talking to a friend and Prophet of God and telling him about my problem and he told me to read Matthew 6:33-34 and to make it mine so I did. I started to read it everyday and some of my problems started to get straightened out and doors started more doors started to open up for me and I thank God for that and also for having mercy on me as well as coming at the right time. God Bless.

Dear Henry:
Since I have been resolved to seek daily “first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness…,” I find myself spontaneously practicing ‘positive psychology’ in my own life, family, and work ‘effortlessly’.
For “I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:10).
Simply put, “your Father knows what you need before you ask Him” (Matthew 6:8; Luke 12:30). I am thus able to focus and handle life’s barriers and adversities readily and effectively.
“In all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).
“And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance” (Romans 5:3).
Like you, “I thank God for that and also for having mercy on me as well as coming at the right time.”
Thank you.
May GOD ALL MIGHTY “supply all your needs according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19);
GODSPEED, always and forevermore!
Mary Sun.
