“God's Grace Is Sufficient”
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
Claire writes:
I had prayed to receive Christ, but the truth of the Gospel went over my head. I tried to live the Christian life in my own power and fell flat on my face. Finally, when I heard that I needed to put all of my trust in the Living Resurrected Christ, I wanted to pray to receive Him again, but was afraid because I had failed so miserably before. God spoke to my spirit and said “My grace is sufficient for you for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” This gave me the confidence to once again ask The Lord Jesus Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Savior and the Lord of my life. As soon as I asked, He came in and gave me a hunger for His Word, the Bible. I was led to buy an easy translation so I could understand. I got me a “Good News Bible” and read through it in about four months time. I went on to read other translations after that, but I still have my first Bible and I treasure it because of the change that has happened in my life because of the Word of God.

Dear Claire:
Since I was determined, like you, that “I needed to put all of my trust in the Living Resurrected Christ,” my life has been more often than not an echo of the Psalmist: “…For the LORD GOD is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11).
Apostle Paul, in the midst of all his infirmities and reproaches, affirms to us that there is even real joy in affliction, paradoxical as it sounds:
“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed” (2 Corinthians 9:8).
Truly, the more I am borne down with any trial in life, the more do I feel my need of the Divine Hand, and the more do I feel the efficacy of Divine Grace.
For “the Grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 1:14).
Thank you.
“May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure” (1 Peter 1:2);
GODSPEED, always and forevermore!
Mary Sun.

I find that I have relied on my own strength to live the righteous life that I feel is required of me and it’s not working. In reading more about grace, I am finding that the frailties that I have are really my strength because I have to intentionally rely on God’s Grace to be able to be the person that he wants me to be. With him I can go far beyond my own abilities.
