“God Reached Me At My Lowest Point”
“No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married.”
Lissy writes:
Well this is my favorite verse in the entire world. I guess I should tell you why. I thught for a period in my life that life wasn’t worth living, and although I had people all around me telling me I was beautiful, deep down I didn’t believe it. Then at summer camp this past summer I said yes to God and resurrendered my life. If you’re reading this and you are struggling with suicide, get some help! I promise you, it’s not worth it.

Dear Lissy:
I applaud your courage to share your heart wrenching story, as well as “resurrendering” your life to God.
No doubt, your ‘resurrection’ here on earth has spared the unthinkable griefs of all your loved ones. Furthermore, You will help awaken, and save those who are on the brink of “struggling with suicide.”
While the psychology of suicide of young and old is deemed more often than not being rooted in Depression, we are still far from comprehending, and thus being able to detect and listen to their inner cries of anguish, pain, and despair.
In the course of my counseling profession, however, my clients have found redemption similar to your personal experience of the Word of God, that they, too, “will be called Hephzibah,”–the name of endearment–they will no more be forsaken, but the LORD will take delight in them; and their land called “Beulah”– Neither will their land be wasted and desolate.
“You are blessed of God” (Isaiah 1:1), indeed.
Truly, “the LORD takes delight in His people; He crowns the humble with salvation” (Psalm 149:4)
To those who “are struggling with suicide,”
I pray, too, that “The LORD will protect him and preserve his life; He will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes (Psalm 41:2).
Thank you.
May GOD ALL MIGHTY Shower His inestimable and infinite Blessings upon you;
GODSPEED, always and forevermore!
Mary Sun.
