My Salvation Comes From Faith and Prayer

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

[Hebrews 4:1 NIV]

Rhonda writes:

The promise of El-Shaddai is that He will give us rest as we lean on Him and not on our own understanding. The declaration of going boldly to the throne in fervent prayer protects in times of spiritual warfare.

    Dear Rhonda:

    It is so refreshing for me to read the Name “El-Shaddai”–”God Almighty Who is All Sufficient”–again.

    In Hebrews 4:4, God Himself has spoken of His own rest when He had finished the work of Creation, a rest which was characterized by the order, beauty and peace of the first Sabbath–which dwells around His Throne in Heaven.

    “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” is reiterated in Hebrews 11:6.

    So often, however, we are not quite prepared to transform this material world, and devote ourselves to true piety, and are thus in danger of losing the “spiritual warfare,” which you so aptly described.

    “In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering” (Hebrews 2:10) in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

    Jesus said, “Come unto me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28) is a promise to us for the enjoyment of that blessed world where God dwells even here on earth.

    Thank you.

    May GOD ALL MIGHTY Bless you inestimably and infinitely;
    GODSPEED, always and forevermore!

    Mary Sun.
