I'm Learning to Trust God

” Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

[Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV]

Tameka writes:

Well its like this- God is a wonderful god and he has brought me through alot in my lil’ life. Well i started off like this, i knew in my heart that i needed to save my soul. I woke up one day and just said to myself “Lord i cant do this anymore. i really want to walk with you Lord.” See before i was placing God on a long term goal. I woke up and said to myself I must change my life, so I let go of all my problems and allowed God to handle my life. before i believed in God but I guess i really never trusted him enough. I said to myself, how can I believe and not trust in the Lord? Ever since I placed all my faith in the lord and not myself, man my life has been better. I see myself as a miracle from god. I love Jesus!

    Dear Tameka:

    I echo your “Ever since I placed all my faith in the lord and not myself…I see myself as a miracle….”

    For I rise out of all my worldly anxieties, fears and plans when I think of myself as the arbiter of my own fate, and thus lean to my own human, earthly understanding.

    Now I confide in God’s Will, as I have the blessed assurance of justification by faith.

    Even though I have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God, I am “justified as a gift by His Grace, through the Redemption which is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:24).

    Consequently, with the “Peace of GOD that surpasses understanding,” when “Even my close friend, whom I trusted, he who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me” (Psalm 41:9), I can sing with the Psalmists: “I trust in Your Unfailing Love; my heart rejoices in Your Salvation: (Psalm 13:5);
    “The LORD is my Strength and my Shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song” (Psalm 28:7).

    I am, no doubt, daily heedful of the First and Great Commandment, that I shall “LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND….” (Matthew 22:37).

    Thank you.

    May GOD ALL MIGHTY Bless you infinitely and inestimably;
    GODSPEED, always and forevermore!

    Mary Sun.
