I Witnessed God's Love on a Loading Dock

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

[John 3:16 NIV]

Davis writes:

I was witnessing to a worker on a loading dock of a supermarket one day. I had just finished telling him that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, and I told him it is from John 3:16 and that he should remember it, and at that moment a trailer truck pulled away from the loading dock with a huge outline of a fish on the back with JOHN 3:16 in huge letters inside of it. I had never in my life seen a tractor trailer big rig with that on it before and we both stood there looking at each other.

    Dear Davis:

    Your quotation always reminds me that GOD Despises sins, but Loves sinners–and hence, Redemption and Salvation.

    This small personal, mundane story illustrates how Egotistic me thank HIM for this.

    A couple of months ago, my eleven-year old grandson, Johannes, emailed me a photo of himself having caught a very large fish–one foot taller than he–in the waters of Scotland, where he resides with my daughter and family. I teased him and said that he should find some way to preserve it and send/bring it to me to enjoy its freshness.

    This month, Johannes came with his mother and family for a short summer vacation here.

    The following day, Lo and behold, he brought back a large fish, one-third his size, that he caught when he secretly went fishing with his parents and siblings here on the Jersey Shore.

    My grandson said proudly: “GOD ALL MIGHTY,” his original phrase, sent me here to catch a fresh fish just for you. You know that it is not legal to bring foods on the plane, don’t you?”

    His parents are dedicated Christians. They thank God that they could fulfill my wish for a freshly caught fish from my grandson’s hands and fishing rod.

    Johannes tells us that he wants to be “fishers of men” when he grows up. For, he said: (Jesus said to Peter and Andrew, his brother) “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19; Mark, 1:17).

    “God so loved the world….” My grandchild is so naturally ingrained with the Love of God that, he at his tender age, is spontaneously loving to every one in his own small ways.

    Thank you.

    May GOD ALL MIGHTY Bless you and your dock friends infinitely and inestimably;
    GODSPEED, always and forevermore!

    Mary Sun.
