God Can Do Great Things Through Me

David asked the men standing near him, “What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?”

[1 Samuel 17: 26 NIV]

Iwan G. writes:

This little kid [David] comes asking, “Who is this unbeliever that should defy the army of the living God?” (I put that into my own words.)

David was the youngest in the family. Though he was young and small, he overcame Goliath, a mighty man.

At our school we have been seeking ways to glorify God and let him do great things through us in a third-world country, in the city of Dakar (population 2.5 million). Most of the people in Dakar are Muslims.

This verse (1 Samuel 17: 26) shows me that though I am small and young, I can still let God do great things through me. And it also encourages me to stand up for my faith.

One Response to “God Can Do Great Things Through Me”

    Dear Iwan G. :

    I, too, was “small and young,..to stand up for my faith” when I was in Hong Kong and Postwar Japan. Now, ‘ancient’ as I am, “still let God do great things through me,” with His Grace and Love.

    Unlike other religions, truly, Our Lord God is “the Living God, ” and we are, therefore, sons and daughters of the Living God (Romans 9:26)

    “What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the Living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people” (2 Corinthians 6:16).

    “(And for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the Living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe” (Timothy 4:10).

    Faithful you will, no doubt, do great things to spread His Good News.

    Truly, “To the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all times and now and forever. Amen” (Jude 1:25).

    Thank you.

    May GOD ALL MIGHTY Bless you and keep you, make His Face shine upon you and give you peace;
    GODSPEED, always and forevermore!

    Mary Sun.
