Dear Geoff Moore:
I empathize with your story, as I also have boys (five boys and five girls to be exact).
Your Blessed sons no doubt will grow in stature and wisdom with your loving efforts to impart in them “God’s Word.”
From my own humble experiences, I venture to say that, the more your children are skeptical, question, and even argue with you, the happier you should be with their intelligence and sense of security with you. One day, they will be like father, like sons.
For “…you being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breath and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knolwedge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God…to Him be the glory… in Christ to all generations forever and ever” (Ephesians 3:17-21).
