Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable.
[Matthew 13:34 NIV]
All of GRITS’ songs are directly related to Scripture and written for people who have needs. GRITS says that if you don’t have needs, you probably won’t connect with their music.

MALE VOICE 1: Definitely because all of our music and all of our songs, you know, are not just faith based, you know or faith based ideas but they are—usually you can take, you know, almost any piece, um, of it or of the—of the song and directly relate it to scripture.
And so as more people are exposed to the music, you know whether they know it or not, they’re being exposed to the word. You know it’s just like when Jesus would speak to the people in parables. He was giving them the word but he was giving it to them in a way where they can understand it on the level of their living.
And that’s Grits’ whole focus you know and that’s what we try to do. You know a lot of people, uh, misconstrue it, you know and all you guys try to cross over. And it’s like—but that’s what Christ’s mission—whole mission was.
He always was trying to reach those who, you know needed to be reached and reach those who people didn’t think that he should be reaching you know. But that’s where the need was you know and that’s where—that’s what we do.
We make music for those with needs. And if you don’t have a need then you probably won’t connect this. You know I mean I don’t know too many perfect people in this world that don’t have needs but if you don’t have any needs then you wouldn’t understand what Grits is about.
But people who have needs understand exactly what we’re about and they know exactly where we’re coming from.
