JASON GRAY: Appropriately when I was a teenager the first verse that I committed to memory and had to call upon like every hour of my life then and now is first Corinthians 10:13, “for no temptation has seized you except for what has come in a man and God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear but when you are tempted he will make a way out so you can stand up under it”.

And, uh—and that has always been a comfort to me from when I was in high school and dealing with temptations regarding my girlfriends or looking at inappropriate things, you know stuff like that.

Um, it was always a great comfort to know that I was never going to be tempted beyond what I could bear. It also meant I had no excuse you know, that, oh I just couldn’t, you know, stand up against it.

And also it was—it was, um, great to see how when I’d be in a moment of temptation how God would always give me escape route, you know and I experienced that over and over. You know his word is true.
