Abby's Interviewing Artists This Week

Hey there, it’s Abby, manager of ShareYourStoryNow.org. I’m in Nashville, TN, at the annual Gospel Music Association (GMA) event.

The team and I are here to interview Christian music artists (lucky us, I know!), such as Casting Crowns, Rebecca St. James, Natalie Grant, Superchick, Salvador and Jaci Velasquez. We’ll be publishing the interviews on the site soon!

While I’m here interviewing artists and taking in the whole GMA event, I’ll post comments on this page about my experiences and interactions. I’ll give you the inside scoop!

Also, feel free to respond to my comments by posting a comment or question below.

Blessings from Nashville,
Abby

    Dear Abby, manager of ShareYourStoryNow.org.:

I hope you will perform with them, too, at the annual Gospel Music Association (GMA) event somehow, some way?

The normally patient me cannot wait to read your comments/hear your music about your experiences and interactions.

    They must be uplifting!

    Thank you.
    Meanwhile,

May GOD ALL MIGHTY Bless you, and
    GODSPEED!

    Mary Sun.

    Hey there!

Well, I am sitting here in the midst of the frantic airport in New York waiting for someone to say “Now boarding, flight to Nashville, TN.”

Last night I had that toughest time sleeping, so I just ended up praying for a good half hour about this coming week.

I can’t even express how excited the team is to be heading out again to Nashville and having the chance to get some amazing stories.

Pray that this week we are able to not just gather great stories, but impact the lives of those being interviewed as well as other convention attendees. Also, please pray for traveling mercies for the SYSN team traveling with us: Scott, Natasha, Nate, Chad and the film crew, and me.

I will be writing some more and maybe even posting some pictures of people we run into! You never know what will happen! :)

    Be blessed,

    Abby

    Hey everyone!

Well it is our first official day at GMA in Nashville, TN. The convention center is buzzing, the halls are in a flurry of excitement and elevators are packed with managers, artists and attendees trying to get from one interview to the next.

The SYSN staff gathered earlier this morning in our convention room and started off the day with a morning devotional from our one and only Scott.

Our very first interview was Francesca Batistelli and we had an amazing time getting to know her heart and learning more about what drives her music and ministry.

We also had the opportunity of interviewing one of my all time favorite, Ginny Owens! I will be posting pictures really soon. I promise you wont be dissapointed!

At the end of the day we were blessed to speak with Jason McLeod who stared in the movie Facing the Giants. If you haven’t seen it… go rent it at your local Blockbuster! He is best known for doing the “death crawl”… Scott even tried to do it with him at the end of the interview!

Overall our time here at GMA is going really well. We feel blessed to be able to capture these stories on video and can’t wait to share them with you.

I will be writing some more later on! You never know who might pop up this week on our site! :)

    Be blessed,

    Abby

    Hello from Nashville!

Well actually from my hotel room in Nashville. :) I’m here deciding if I should finish a piece of chocolate cake or just hold off so I’m not awake until 3am like the night before last.

What a day! This has been by far my absolute favorite day so far. One of our ABS team members Nate, started off the day just right with a devotional and allowed each of us go back to His Word and trust that He is in control of everything we do.

We had quite the line up today with interviews including, but not limited to: Stellar Kart, Kutless, Mercy Me, Salvador, Jaci Velasquez and one of Nat’s favorites Mandisa. Here is an excerpt from Nat’s blog:

“Mandisa was great - she shared a lot about her struggle with weight, and how she uses her song and campaign, True Beauty, to reach out to women with low self esteem and other issues. It was cool to hear her perspective on American Idol.”

My favorite today was Kutless. They were almost canceled, but luckily they were able to come through and bless us with an unforgettable interview. They spoke a lot about the issue of acceptance within the church and how more often than not, those who look different because of tattoos and piercings, get judged and shunned from the church. They mentioned how an instance in a tattoo parlor while getting tattooed, one member was able to minister to a man who might have never heard about God’s word. What a testimony!

Another fun interview for me was with a new group called pureNRG, and trust me… their band name does not dissapoint! I got a chance to talk with them for a few moments before our interview so I could get to know them better and they had more energy than any other 12 year olds that I have ever met! They sang “Thy Word” for us in a three part harmony that made everyone in the room just smile from ear to ear.

I did actually try tonight to upload some photos that we have been taking only to find out that my computer couldn’t read the photo file! I will try my best to get it fixed and hopefully post some up tomorrow!

Continue to pray for our team and that the Lord continue to reveal Himself to us and to those that enter our convention room.

    Be blessed,

    Abby

  6. Mary Sun says:

    Dear Abby, manager of ShareYourStoryNow.org.:

May “the Lord continue to reveal Himself” to you and your Team, and to those that enter your convention room.

For I trust that with the fellowship and dedication therein, “the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.” (Isaiah 40:5).

    Thank you.

May GOD ALL MIGHTY Bless each and all of you, and
    GODSPEED, always and forevermore!

    Mary Sun.
