“I Decided to Have My Baby”
Thou shalt not kill.
Lynda A. writes:
My grandmother would make me read Exodus 20 over and over again. I don’t know when I began doing that, but I read it until she knew I had it. She died on my 12th birthday.
A year later I was pregnant (at 13). Because my grandmother taught me the verse “do not kill,” I decided against getting an abortion.
I am so thankful to my grandmother.
My daughter is now 21. It was hard to raise her, but by the grace of God we have grown and have had some wonderful years.

Dear Lynda A.:
Blessed be your precious Grandmother, whose vision has brought you the fulfillment and joy of your Princess, who in turn would no doubt perpetuate your goodness, faith, hope and love.
Jesus reminded us of this Commandment that only God the Father could give us the breath of life (Matthew 5:21).
I pray, and hope that we realize:
“…because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else…we are His offspring,” and thus coexist in brotherhood and peace across lands and seas.
Thank you, and
May GOD ALL MIGHTY Bless you and yours many more “wonderful years” to come;
GODSPEED, always and forevermore!
Mary Sun.

I am also glad that you listened to your grandmother. When I became pregnant, my husband wanted me to have an abortion. I was not yet a Christian, but God knew I would be. He whispered thoughts to me about how important this child would be. I listened to the Lord. My daughter is the person I’m closest to, a beautiful Christian wife and mother. She gave me my grandson, my little buddy. It’s terrible to think about what I could have missed. The Lord is good, His mercy endureth forever.

Thanks for sharing your story. It is a testimony that God’s Word truly does change lives, and reinforces that we should hide God’s Word in our hearts so that we will not sin against Him. We have two adopted children and would have missed some of the greatest blessings in life if their natural mothers had aborted. Jerome Turner
