SOLOMON OLDS: I just, uh, remember coming to Christ when I was, I think probably, about eight and just reading through the Bible first, you know, read the Roman Road, Roman Sinton [phonetic] and stuff and finding out how to get saved and stuff and that was—that was really cool.

Uh, but I remember somebody showing me Philippians 4:13 at one time in my life and I was like—for some reason after I’d, you know, read through the whole testament—the New Testament, that one just seemed to keep sticking out at me.

I know it’s a favorite of a lot of people but I think it’s a favorite for a reason because, I don’t know, just even when I was a kid it was—it was such a huge verse to overcome things.

And even to this day when we’re in our band and we’re in the van and things are going bad, the van’s breaking down or flights are getting cancelled or the shows not doing well or something like that, uh, I always—I always flip to that verse and really think about man I really can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

You know and it just—it helps me go throughout the day and just focus on him and focus on his strength strengthening me because without him I can’t do anything because I’m just a human and he’s God.

And me plus having God is awesome and I like that way better than what’s normally just me.
