LINCOLN BREWSTER: Before I came to Christ, gosh it was like I made a career out of worrying. You know, I was a young guy, I was 19, but just a lot of worry about a lot of different things. The first scripture that I ever memorized, and I’m going to reference it because I know the scripture but I want to make sure I get it right, it’s in Matthew. The translation that I first memorized, I love the way it read. The disciples were kind of freaking out, and Jesus went to them and He said, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” And that hit me like a freight train, because it made so much sense. I’m kind of a logical thinker, you know, I’m an analytical thinker, and I just went, “No kidding. You’re going to go from A to B, no matter what, and how you behave on that road is everything, and worrying is not going to help. It’s not going to make me live longer, it’s not going to change the outcome. All it’s going to do is contribute to destroying my inside.” So it kind of nipped that in the bud in a lot of ways. So whenever worry tries to creep back up, I just always go, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”
