“God Delivered Me”
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Calvin C. writes:
In November 2005, I was suffering from a great amount of blood loss and was admitted into the hospital. The reason this scripture (Psalm 18:2) is important to me is because before I was admitted to the hospital, I didn’t know anything was wrong, I didn’t know I needed blood.
My doctor had called me to see if I was OK because even though I had shown no symptoms of blood loss, the lab reports read something different. I was stronger than ever and able to make it to the hospital to make sure everything was OK.
When I got to the hospital I found out I was so low in blood that I should not have been able to function.
God is my Rock and my Strength because He enabled me to make it to the hospital and get the necessary care. I needed four units of blood transfused into my body.
Two years later I am better than ever, and I know that if it was not for the love of GOD I wouldn’t have made it.
I love Him, and I am alive today because of Him and His love for me. He gave me a second chance.
Through my talents and gifts, I give all that I can back to the church to honor Him. I love Him so much!

Dear Calvin C.:
The sight of a rock, or a rock in my hand, never ceases to amaze me with its beauty, strength and awe with His Creation.
There are never two rocks alike in shape, lines or colors–unlike the man-made ones.
When I visited Hiroshima in post-war Japan, among all ruins, I saw integrated rocks unscathed.
In the Old Testament, God was praised for providing sustenance even from barren rocks (Psalm 105:41; 114:8; Ex. 148:11; Deuteronomy 32:04).
The “Rock” is such a pertinent epithet of depicting our Creator’s might and permanence. He made the covenant of His people at Mount Sinai (Isaiah 26:4).
After Simon Peter confessed “Jesus as the Christ,” Jesus said, “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church.” (Matthew 16:18).
My experiences of the past and present lead me to put all my confidence and trust in him. He never fails me. For He is my Protector, my Helper, Father, Saviour and Redeemer in Whom I can always trust and lean upon.
Consequently, I fear no evil, and have all the sense of security and peace in my heart, mind and soul.
Thank you for reaffirming my faith.
May GOD ALL MIGHTY Bless you and your selfless giving and church, always and forevermore,
Mary Sun.
