Committing My Life to God

Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine.

[Psalm 16:5 NLT]

Sola writes:

I was going through a difficult season in my life. I could see no way out of the circumstances I was in at the time.

I was confused and didn’t know what to do! I love the Lord so much, and I tried at the time to live a godly life.

At the time, I pursued God and sought him for everything.

I was like Mary at the feet of Jesus! But still the problem would not leave.

One night after praying to God, I fell asleep, and the Lord gave me a dream. He inspired me to study the book of Psalm 16 (expecially verse 5 is very key to me) and to lay my life, my purpose, my dream and all that I have at His feet!

He asked me to commit my future to Him and all shall be well for me.

I am grateful today because I realized in my life that nothing can do it for me but my JESUS. Thank you.

Sola, thanks for sharing! I was really struck by the sentence, “He asked me to commit my future to Him and all shall be well for me.” I was struck because it hit me that usually I’m scared to listen to God, to surrender my life to God. Yikes. It struck me that I don’t trust God as much as I might think I do. Hmmmm. Your story inspired me to take the risk and spend time “listening” to God’s invitations to me. I long to listen to God more consciously, and at the same time it scares me to death.

Thanks again, Sola. Blessings to you!

    Dear Sola :

What a beautiful story and compelling faith!

You sound muscially like the psalmist yourself who worshipped no god but Jehovah, and sought no possession or comfort which did not proceed from Him.

Often I pray with young people in particular with and for their “cup of blessing,” not to be found in intoxicating bottle but in Him Who cheers, refreshes, comforts and sustains our souls, in the Lord alone.

Followng recent news while shocking but unfortunately has become a statistic.

You have reminded me to count “my cup of blessing,” and work all the harder with and for others, too.

    Thank you and may
GOD ALL MIGHTY Bless you always and forevermore!

    Mary Sun.

    Thanks Andy,

I believe so strongly, God does not need our perfection to qualify us for his love and His instruction,He will never ask us to do anything He wont help us achieve.

    Bless you always

Amen! A resounding Amen to that. Sola, thank you for sharing you story. It’s always amazing to me how no matter what we do it all comes down to one simple thing… God is in control. No matter how much we try to figure it out. I know I do that often and He just brings me back.
