I Refuse Sickness and Disease

And the Lord will take away from you all sickness, and none of the evil diseases of Egypt which you knew will He put upon you, but will lay them upon all who hate you.

[Deuteronomy 7:15 Amplified Bible]

Margaret R. writes:

Though physical ailments may attempt to penetrate my body, the numerous promises in God’s Word proclaim that I do not have to receive the doctor’s report since the Lord, at Calvary, took my sickness and carried my diseases.

In January 2002, a standard mammography revealed a suspicious lump. Though the doctors discussed the possibility of cancer, I clung to the aforementioned scripture with the knowledge that I would never know the evil diseases of Egypt.

Whenever fear would arise, I would speak the Word aloud, and remind the Lord of His promises. Ultimately, a biopsy revealed the lump as completely benign.

Other attacks have come since that time, but as always, I have steadfastly adhered to God’s Word. He is faithful - completely so - and desires for His people to believe Him - literally and without hesitation. That I have done and will do for the rest of my life.

Margaret, thanks for sharing. I’m moved and inspired by your faith.

Your story stirred me. I felt some fear and joy arise. After reading about your steadfast faith that God will heal you, I felt scared that I don’t have enough faith to be healed, to be blessed, by God. I felt joyful about your health and faith and the way you relate to God around physical healing (which is different than the way I typically relate to God around physical healing). And I felt joyful about the Mystery of God and healing and our bodies. And I felt joyful that I’m OK, that God’s got me, no matter how I view faith, God or healing, or how I live out my faith, etc.

Your story provoked me to think about the Mystery of God — especially in the sense of how I relate to God and how God relates to me around the area of my physical body and physical healing.

Thanks for that gift, Margaret! Blessings to you!

    Dear Margaret R. :

Faith heals, and you are a living proof thereof.

“Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed.” Jeremiah 17: 14).

Jesus gave His disciples authority to heal every kind of disease and sickness (Matthew 10:1; John 5:4).

Miracles after miracles of healing still confound even the most experienced medical professionals and best equipped hospitals today.

Our All MIGHTY TRIUNE GOD live and hear the afflicted.

Your beautiful testimony should give hope and inspiration to the many depressed and discouraged over similar diagnoses, and thus help them lead a more fulfilled and joyful life from henceforth.

“Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shal you be when you go out….” Deuteronomy 28: 3.

    Mary Sun.
