“Rekindles a Fire in My Bones”
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
Pastor John M. writes:
This verse is one of many that I hold onto with all my might. This verse in particular means life to me whenever I have thoughts of doubt concerning who I am in Christ Jesus. It helps to define my life.
Many years ago I learned how to personalize scripture. So in this verse I exchange the word “you” for “me.” And now the verse is confessed with confidence and assurance as such: “I can be confident in this very thing, that He who began a good work in ME will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
I’ll meditate on it until I get it deep down in my heart and soul. It kindles a fire down in my bones that causes me to get excited again. I no longer care about being lied to, cheated, talked about and mistreated. I may not be all I want to be but I’m surely not all I used to be. For the goodness of God has set me free from the law of sin and death.
I gain back the pep-in-my-step. I’m able to fully love again. My peace and joy has been restored. For if God is for me, who can be against me. Thoughts are taken captive. Satan had me bound, but Jesus - the Living Word - has set me free.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Jesus is real!

Dear Pastor John M. :
I humbly affirm with you that “Jesus is real!”
For “in Him was life, and the light of men….” (John 1:4-5).
He never fails to “shine in my darkness.” Here, too, I exchanged the word “the” into “my.”
Like Paul and you, I affirm that “He who began a good work in me will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
In the flesh, I am too weak and too ready to yield to temptations and be led astray. My total reliance on Him has set me free, indeed. He has renewed me with His Grace in my soul with everlasting joy of eternal life here on earth.
I join in your chorus of Hallelujah’s, Amen!
May GOD ALL MIGHTY Bless you and your ministry, always and forevermore,
Mary Sun.
