“Crisis Brought Me Back to God”
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Debbie K. writes:
A few years ago, this verse (Deuteronomy 31:6) helped get me through a very difficult time with my daughter.
I was saved as an adult and was a babe in Christ when my daughter became very ill in 2001. She was diagnosed with a very rare condition that caused her to have a brain hemorrhage at age 9. Prior to her illness, I had stopped going to church and was back sliding for quite a while.
During the time my daughter was in the hospital, I prayed continuously that God would forgive me for leaving him and would heal my daughter. Not only did God answer my prayers and heal my daughter completely, He also spoke to me through this verse (Deuteronomy 31:6).
I will never forget the comfort and peace that I experienced in my heart by meditating on the fact that God will never leave me nor forsake me. I left him for quite a few years, but He didn’t leave me, and He got me through this illness.
Since then I have gone through many other trials, and I rely on God 100% to get me through them. I attend church faithfully, and I am proud to say I am growing in my relationship with God daily.
I guess it sometimes takes a crisis to realize how much we need God in our lives.

Debbie, what a beautiful, touching and inspiring story. Thanks for sharing it. And thanks for reminding me about Deut. 31:6 — what a powerful verse.

Dear Debbie K.:
Thank you very much for renewing my faith with your own heart-felt experiences–no less profound than the stories of the Prodigal Son, St. Paul on the road to Damascus and many more similar Biblical events of the the Old and New Testaments.
Yes, GOD ALL MIGHTY never forsake us. The law of GOD is to be in our hearts (Heb. 10:16)and we are to exhibit them in Christian love (John 13:34, 35).
May GOD shower His infinite and inestimable Blessings upon you, your most precious princess and yours, this Happy New Year 2008 and many, many more to come,
Mary Sun.
