“Jesus Helped My Family”
But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
Tevita writes:
Since I was a small kid, my parents used to send me to Sunday school; and since then it has become a norm for me. I tried my very best to do what was right, according to the knowledge of the Bible that I learned at the time (at a young age).
While growing up I decided that there are certain things in life that are not good for my health and against God’s teachings, such as smoking and drinking alcohol. I never took up these two at all after
realizing the consequences people face.
Up until I got married I found the need to take Jesus seriously into my life and accept Him as my one and only Savior. I was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church in September 2003. Before I accepted Jesus, my family faced continuous financial problems and other domestic problems. We did not own anything, including property.
I accepted Jesus as my LORD and Savior, and things began to make a turnaround in our family.
I went to Iraq and am now in Afghanistan, and we have managed to purchase land, pay off our house and car, send our children to college, buy laptops, camcorders, etc., things that we never dreamed of owning. Also, my wife, whom many in her family never thought highly of, is now driving our family car.
I have many favorite verses in the Bible, but this passage (Jeremiah 17:7-8) is one which I usually say in my prayers most often to remind me of God’s promise and love for HIS people. It allows me to realize and obtain HIS spiritual power and strength whenever I mention it.
To this very day my family has never (and will never) regret accepting Jesus as Savior; and we will continue to preach, share, spread and work for HIS church. We’ll do what is required of us to do in order to fulfill our inner-most needs — and that is to be filled and equip ourselves with HIS word and be a source of spiritual inspiration, blessings and insight to others.
May our God bless us as we continue to prepare ourselves for HIS second coming.

Dear Tevita:
You deserve the best.
What a powerful testimony and dedication of your life!
Your goodness through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is surely like “a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream…its leaves are always green.”
Your presence in war-torn Iraq and Afghanistan is undoubtedly a light that shines before them.
May GOD ALL MIGHTY Bless you and yours, and
GODSPEED in your Christ-centered mission that “sends out its roots by the stream….”
Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year,
Mary Sun.
