I Love the Bible So Much

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

[John 14:6 NIV]

Gali writes:

GaliThis verse reminds me of God’s grace in my life.

In 1980 I lost all my hopes in all gods and in all my trails because my priest told me that there is no hope for my life and I must suffer according to my Karma (meaning the result of sin). His words inspired me to enjoy life and die because there was no hope for me.

I became a thief and club dancer.

At that time I heard about Christ. The truth that “he died for my sins” gave me a new hope. But as an angry fellow, I resisted to believe that Jesus is the only Lord because I was thinking all gods in the world also are gods. I used to worship all the gods, even after knowing Christ. But while I am on the way to Hindu temple, the Lord spoke with me though the Scripture.

JOHN 14:6: “I am the way, the truth and the life; nobody comes to the Father but through me.”

I surrendered my life to Lord Jesus and confessed that He is the only Lord and died for my sins to deliver me from all my sins (Karma). When I totally surrendered my life to the Lord, He has delivered me from evil spirits, which suffered me about 6 years. I became a new person in Christ.

I love the Bible so much and started memorizing the scriptures.

By the grace of God I have memorized three thousand Scriptures from the Holy Bible. Every day I also remember all the verses. Morning time I remember about 1500 verses for praise, worship and prayer (most of them are from Psalms). This practice helps me to be strong in the Lord and also to help others for the glory of the Lord.

John 14:6 is my favorite verse; I preach this word to many unsaved people that they may find the peace in Jesus Christ because He is the Lord of all.

The Lord has called me to serve Him as a full-time evangelist. In the year 1985 I resigned my secular job and dedicated to the ministry. For all these years the Lord is faithful to supply all our needs according to His word (Matthew 6:33).

Gali, it sounds like you’ve been on quite a journey! Thanks for sharing it with us.

I’m inspired by how much you’re engaging scripture and soaking in it. I love your thirst for God.

    Blessings to you.

    Dear Gali:

I empathize with your heartfelt expose of experiences of gods and Karma. Born and raised in a devout Buddhist family; emersed in the study of the Chinese Book of Wisdom I-Ching (Changes) of 3,000 years: living 4 years in Japan surrounded with Zen Buddhists: regularly involved in communities with Moslems, atheists and agnostics, I remain a humble Christian servant. This is due to nothing less than my unwavering unconsciousness, subconsciousness and consciousness that there is only One TRIUNE GOD as manifested in the Old and New Testaments.
I respect all those who are believers in their own gods whose teachings are to live a good and not evil life. Had they the exposure, however, I do believe that our fellowmen will also choose to follow the way, grow in the truth and live life eternal of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ here on earth!

Your Christian ministry is much needed.

May GOD ALL MIGHTY Bless you and GODSPEED!

    Mary Sun.

Gali, I am seriously impressed and encouraged by your memorization of Scripture. That is a profound and rewarding practice that is slowly falling by the wayside. I find it particularly encouraging that your focus has been largely the Psalms; in other words, that you’ve invested your energy into learning verses that remind you of God and set your mind on the things of God rather than into assembling an arsenal of “prooftexts” for bludgeoning anyone perceived to be ignorant and wayward.

Just for the sake of conversation, I wonder if you and any others reading this post would be willing to put forward your recommendation for the top 20 must-memorize verses. It would be interesting to see how many and which ones show up on everyone’s list. (For the sake of balance and fairness, let’s say no passages longer than the beatitudes, but individual verses are OK.)
