“Ronnie Freeman Finds Confidence in God (1:27)”
This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD. He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. “But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.
Ronnie Freeman tells how Jeremiah 17:5-7 helps him remember to keep and find his confidence in God, especially in the midst of discouragement.

Ronnie, I just love your heart. I’d love to hear more of your story … I’d love to get to know you more.
Thanks for being so real, so honest. Thanks for sharing so vulnerably about your insecurities. And, yea, if I were a musician, I can imagine that the Gospel Music Awards week could easily surface my insecurities. I could imagine myself feeling the tug to do a lot of people pleasing.
I’m inspired by how you were connecting to God that week through the words of Jeremiah 17:5-7. It sounds like God used those verses to help you stay grounded in God’s love, in your identity as the beloved.
I just wrote those verses down for myself, to meditate on later. In part because I’m an approval addict, I’m drawn toward scripture that helps me stay rooted in God.
So thanks again, Ronnie. Blessings to you!
