“I Realized There Must Be a God”
God’s eternal power and character cannot be seen. But from the beginning of creation, God has shown what these are like by all he has made. That’s why those people don’t have any excuse.
Hugo S. writes:
I was an atheist. When I first read the New Testament and found this verse (Romans 1:20), I knew that I had had the opportunity to get to know God as the Creator. And this tore down all my ideas about everything … myself, the world and God.
I used to be a goat shepherd, and by observing the creation I came to a conclusion: There must be a God.
I came to the Lord and gave Him all my life. I came to a missionary family and received training to become a Bible translator. I have worked for 9 years on an indigenous language in Oaxaca, Mexico, and we are getting closer to the end of the task.
I have shared the Gospel among the Mixtec people and a church has been planted. The Jesus video has been dubbed into the Mixtec language and more people are receiving the message about Jesus.

This is a great story, Hugo. Thanks for sharing it with us. I would love to hear more both about the ways in which creation speaks to you about God, and about your translation work.

Hugo, thanks for sharing! I’m tracking with you.
I’ve always been a nature lover. And nature continues to grow in its “spiritual” significance for me. For example, through nature I’m starting to get a deeper sense of God’s timeless “Presence” … and in some sense, my own timeless Presence (i.e., the same timeless Presence of God that exists in nature — and all things — exists in me, too).
Does anybody else have any stories or thoughts about experiencing God (or “finding” God) through nature? Any other verses about nature or creation that are meaningful to you?
