“Getting Through Tough Times”
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
Rachelle Z. writes:
I truly believe this verse to be an encouragement to all Christians. It is one that shows we can make it through life’s trials with the help of Jesus. He will always be there for us, no matter what. We just need to trust in Him.
This verse has impacted me by of course helping me through tough times. Though I may not always remember it, when I do it “strengthens me.” It also puts things into perspective, showing me that I can’t do it alone.
I pray more people will remember this verse and use it in their daily walk with God.

Rachelle, thanks for sharing. Especially back in high school, this verse was extremely helpful and life-giving to me. And as I read it again at the top of your story, I felt tender, I felt touched by God in a really sweet way. So thanks again.

This is one of the first verses I learned as a kid because my dad told me it was his favorite verse. It was easy to remember because he pointed out that the reference is the same as the date of his birthday. I think it’s a great verse not just because it encourages us when we’re facing difficult situations, but because it puts those situations in perspective. Paul, you’ll remember, was writing these words from prison, even while contemplating the end of his life, and to a church whose members we’re fighting amongst themselves and forgetting about the things that Paul thought were most important.
