And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
[Romans 8:28 NIV]
Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
[Galatians 1:10 NIV]
CO3 share the importance of Romans 8:28 and how we need to live out that verse every day. They share about Galatians 1:10 and how important it is for us to not please people, but please God.

DAVE ROMERO: For me, you know there’s so many. There’s the ultimate verse, John 3:16 of course. Without that, you know, the basis and foundation of my Christian walk would not, you now, be there. But Romans 8:28, you know that’s an easy one but it means so much, the depth of that verse: all things work together for good, for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. And for anybody that’s a musician that’s pursuing a calling and a life’s dream and yet is still trying to work for the church and be a kingdom-builder, that verse has to be part of your daily walk because there’s so many things that sway us, that blow across our lives that influence bad and good, and you have to live that verse, you have to know that verse. And for me, through all of the struggles of the music business, the life on the road, being away from the family, that verse really, really helps me get through.
CHAD LITTLE: The verse that rings true, there’s actually two for me. One verse for me is Galatians 1:10, “Am I trying to please man or God? If I was trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” And I’ve used that verse so many times in my life because so many of us want to please people, when if we please God we’ll please some people. And then the other verse if Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are they who thirst and hunger for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” Righteousness meaning “right living.” I want to be filled daily with his presence so, you know, to try to pursue God with a passion. So I live by those two verses and they’re really helped me coming out of the church work where I used to be into this, you know continuing to keep my focus on why I’m even doing this. So those are the two great verses I live by.
