“I’m Called to Be a Witness”
He [Jesus] said to them, “… But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Lisa writes
The Bible verse that has made an impact on my life is Acts 1:8. It is a reminder to me that I have been called to be a witness to Jesus Christ to all the world.

Lisa is an ABS Endowment Scholarship recipient and attends Fuller Theological Seminary, where she is studying for a Master of Divinity degree. Although she has demonstrated skill as a leader and a scholar, the true heart of Lisa’s ministry is service to others. As an intern for the Student Ministries program at First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu, she excelled in organizing, leadership, teaching, and outreach. She served on the Student Advisory Board for Presbyterian Ministries at Fuller, and is involved with an International Student Ministry. Lisa participates in inner-city ministry trips into Los Angeles and works with partner agencies to help the homeless. She says, “I believe God has called me to be a pastor so that I can help shepherd people into God’s kingdom.” After graduation, Lisa hopes to be ordained in the Presbyterian Church, and return to Hawaii to minister in a congregation where she can continue outreach ministry.
