My life verse is Philippians 3:10. I also can’t resist adding a verse that is making a dramatic impact on my life: Hebrews 12:1, “Therefore, we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”

A special note from American Bible Society (ABS): Vanessa is an ABS Endowment Scholarship recipient. She’s graduating from California Baptist University in 2007 (with high honors) and is preparing to become an elementary school teacher in China. Her goal, “is to equip students with knowledge above and beyond the current content standards and challenge them to think critically.” Vanessa, a member of Harvest Christian Fellowship, has been involved with ministry all her life. At 10 she became a Youth Ministry Trainee, and was involved in vacation Bible school and the Junior High School Ministry. She joined the S.W.A.T. Team (Students With A Testimony) when she entered high school, and enjoyed, “the opportunity to go street witnessing and share the gospel with people from many walks of life.” Vanessa’s ministry life has included being a high school counselor, mentor, and leader for younger women in ministry. God has richly prepared Vanessa for the call He has on her life, through her work with the Children’s Ministry and as a 3rd grade Sunday School Teacher. Her upcoming teaching assignment in China is more evidence of God’s matchless favor and abundance. She says, “I have seen the Lord’s faithfulness in providing above and beyond my needs as I reach out in faith and bless others.”
