“Letting God Direct My Path”
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Earl writes
Be it that the entire Bible is my instruction and handbook for Christian living, there exist two consecutive verses which comprise a periscope that has always collaborated to be the pinnacle for imparting unto me the knowledge, wisdom, understanding, faith, hope, and guidance that I require to live each day one day at a time. Those verses are Proverbs 3:5-6. These are the verses by which I pattern my day-to-day life.
A special note from American Bible Society (ABS): Earl is an ABS Endowment Scholarship recipient and is a pre-med student at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, where he’s studying biology, chemistry, and Latin languages and literature. Earl has established himself as a highly focused, incredibly dedicated young man. His spectacular academic success is surpassed only by his love of The Lord, and the clarity of his goals. He says, “In life, we all must somehow ascertain our purposes for living. We must come to understand the reason for which we are here and what God has for us to do.” His goal of becoming a cardiologist was established and confirmed through prayer and revelation from God’s Word. Earl is preparing himself to, as he says, “do what my God has for me to do, and there is no turning back.” He has worked at the Pediatrics, Neurology, Cardiology, and Echocardiography Clinic of the Medical College of Georgia, and in the offices of prominent gastroenterologists and cardiologists at the University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. His career plans include graduation from the Medical College of Georgia’s School of Medicine by 2013, followed by the completion of a residency and internship in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiovascular disease.

Proverbs 3:5-6 is also MY life verse … I have claimed it as my own, and even had it printed on a t-shirt so the world will know it is my mantra!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” Amen and amen.
