“I’ll Always Have Hope”
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Julie writes
There is no greater source of hope than the hope I have in Christ, and throughout life I have ALWAYS and WILL ALWAYS have that hope so I don’t ever have to worry about not having the strength to go on. That verse speaks to me every day.
A special note from American Bible Society (ABS): Julie is an ABS Endowment Scholarship recipient. The record of Julie’s academic and athletic achievements at First Assembly Christian School raises the bar for every student athlete that comes after her. Julie graduated with an almost perfect academic record that included honors and advanced placement courses in mathematics, chemistry, history, art, and English. She played junior varsity and varsity basketball as well as varsity volleyball. Her first love, however, is teaching. She says, “ever since the days of playing make-believe school, I have aspired to be a teacher. And while I may have grown out of the stuffed animal stage, the enduring desire has not deserted me.” Julie’s warmth and sensitivity to children and others is evident by the length and breadth of her community service activities. She’s been volunteering since junior high school at medical centers, basketball clinics, and art galleries. She’s spent time with the homeless at Christmas, and volunteered with Samaritan’s Purse and Meals on Wheels. Her pastor at Coldwater Baptist Church writes of Julie, “As much as the scholarship would honor her, she will bring honor to the scholarship because of her character and pursuit of excellence.” Julie will begin pursuing her career as a teacher at Gardner Webb University in 2007.
