“The awesomeness of being a dad”
But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed.
Mark writes:
I became a born again believer in Jesus Christ on April 21st, 1976 at Lackland AFB, on the steps of the Airman’s Club. Why is that a significant event? Well, other than the fact that I have a guarantee of eternal life, it was the day after my first daughter was born. I was always a man who believed in God, but the awesomeness of becoming a parent for the first time, and the timely gentle leading of my mentor caused me to realize that the very huge paternal responsibilities I was to face ahead, would require the power of God to fulfill.
Now, 30 years later, I can tell countless stories of just how that all became very real. There is no way that I could have had the strength to become the dad I am. It is wonderful to love, share, and serve Jesus.

I can relate. It is the most important responsibility we are given: to raise our children to know and love Christ. I was privileged to receive two beautiful creations of God. I consider it my duty to educate them in a Christian church and a private Christian school so that they have the best chance of living well in this world and knowing a Holy life. It reminds me of the scripture, “Raise the child well and they will not depart from it.” (Iam not sure of the exact wording but it means if you teach your child about faith in God and are a good example, they will always stay with faith.
