Godly parenting reaps future rewards

Liz writes:

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (KVJ)

I met the Lord as a single mother when my son was 3 1/2 years old. My son is now 22 years old. When my son did his first year in college, he got into drugs and drinking and was on the road to destruction. He decided to leave college and come home. At home he continued this lifestyle and I told him that this behavior would not be acceptable in my home; he need to change or move out. He moved out. He was gone only a few months when he realized he was slowly killing himself, and with a strong foundation in the Lord, he knew suicide was not an option. So he decided to drop to his knees and surrender his will to the Lord. He is now serving God faithfully and involved in many areas of his church, such as a soup kitchen, Habit for Humanity and such. He said that having been raised in a Godly home with a strong foundation is what brought him back to the Lord. God’s word is truth! Proverbs 22:6: Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.
