“Bibles for American Hospitals”
Dear American Bible Society,
Our Pastoral Care Department sincerely thanks you for making possible the recent large shipment of Bibles that we received. You should have seen the rejoicing that took place in our offices—we were like kids on Christmas morning! It was amazing to see what 1144 pounds of Bibles in a single shipment looks like. And we were thoroughly delighted that you were able to ship a good variety of versions of Holy Scripture. We believe it was no accident that God put it on your heart to select our hospital for gift Bibles paid for by such a wonderful philanthropic endowment as the Chenery Endowment.
We are enormously grateful to you for blessing us so richly, and for enabling us to pass along the blessing of God’s Word to countless others. Your kind consideration of our needs, and your decision to grant a gift of such magnitude, will be long remembered by our manager and chaplains. The Chenery Gift Bibles have already been placed in all inpatient rooms, in all same day surgery rooms, in our chapel, in an off-campus hospice facility, and in our new emergent care facility in a neighboring county. And next summer, we will place Chenery gift Bibles in the new, adjacent, seven-story tower (significantly increasing our capacity for patient care and patient census). We all thank you, American Bible Society!
