“Finding God in India”
I am the gate. All who come in through me will be saved. Through me they will come and go and find pasture.
Brother Kunal writes:
I was born into a Hindu Brahmin family of West Bengal (India), and was brought up around a staunch religious environment. As I grew, I was becoming more and more curious to encounter God personally, and know His reality in human life.
For that purpose, I had visited many places of worship, had interacted with several religious preachers of varied faith and cross-cultural activities, practiced magic, and finally gave in to a life of alcohol and worldly revelry.
Nothing could give me true satisfaction. Eventually as a last resort, I went to get initiated (Diksha) by a “guru” (a Hindu ritual, whereby the “guru” proceeds to cleanse karma from the pupil).
All of this led to utter frustration and as a sequel to an overriding sense of rejection, I decided to commit suicide at the age of 42.
On May 31, 1994, the Living God allowed me to enter eternal life through a miraculous personal encounter with Him by the power of His Holy Spirit, as he spoke to me through his words, John 10:9.
12 years of walking with Him – through many trials and tribulations, much adversity, much prosperity, many ups, many downs – His words have always been a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Today I echo the word of Apostle Paul, “… that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel” (Philippians 1:12).
He has allowed me to share the Good News as an evangelist all around the nation of India, with the power of the Holy Spirit, and He does the wonders.
